Dia & Co, box 1

So I'm trying to make some basic improvements to my lifestyle, and eventually breaking out of some of the monotony of my jeans-and-t-shirt wardrobe is on the list.

A few months ago, I started considering signing up for Dia & Co. It's one of those monthly fashion crates, though this one caters specifically to plus sized women. Each crate costs $20 and includes four articles of clothing and one accessory. You try on the items, keep what you want, and send the rest back, and then they charge you for whatever you keep, minus the $20 "styling fee".

I waffled about it for a while before I finally decided to go for it, partly because of the $10 credit they offered me. I got my first crate yesterday and was actually super pleased with what I got. That in mind, I thought I'd try to actually document what I got and how I felt about it and so on. I'm in no way a fashion blogger, but maybe this is another step in being more comfortable with myself.

So, My first box:

I'll start with the stuff I'm keeping:

Fashion to Figure / The Bootcut Jean / Dark Indigo / 26
These run $38.90.

This isn't the greatest picture considering we don't own a full length mirror, but. They're a pair of jeans and they fit me right, so I'm keeping them.

Emerald / Melissa Cardigan / Rust / 3X
This runs $40.

This is a little different than what I usually go for, but it's cozy and I like the way it hangs.

And now for the stuff that's going back:

Society+ / Mallory Blazer / Black / 3X
This runs $50, which is part of the reason I'm sending it back. It's a little small and a lot short, and it's super similar to something I already own and mostly use as a costume piece. If it was cheaper, I might see about exchanging it for a larger size, but I don't really need another of the same thing.

Luxe Group / Margie Necklace / Gold / OS
This runs $30. It's kinda neat, but I just don't wear gold.

Tua / Jessica Top / Black/Pink / 3X
This runs $40, and honestly I just sort of hate it. I might like it more if not for the black parts, but wearing it, the mesh along the bottom does nothing to hide my stomach and the black parts on the sides just don't work for me at all. I think it might suit better someone who's younger than me and not so heavy in the mid-section.

So yes. Despite the fact that I'm sending back more than I'm keeping on this one, I'm actually super pleased with what I got and will definitely be continuing my subscription.
